The origins of lace front wigs
Lace wig techniques originate from the theatrical industry and remained a closely guarded secret amongst celebrities and media personalities. However, the industry has increased significantly and have modified lace wigs to meet the demands of contemporary society. It’s increasing popularity is due to its wearability - creating style options such as pony tails, freestyle parting not possible with traditional wigs. Lace wigs are of superior quality, of lightweight breathable construction and easy to apply - put simply lace front wigs are the most undetectable wigs available.

Ready Made Lace Caps
Ear to Ear stretch - offers a little flexibility but partings are limited to left, right & centre only.
Made to Measure Lace Caps
Full Lace - part anywhere, suitable for ponytails.
Lace & adjustable straps - for left, right & centre partings with strap at back.
Lace with PU rim - ideal for severe hair loss.: no glue required., available in all colours.

What is the difference between Indian & Chinese Remy Hair?
The popularity of Indian Remy is due to its flexibility, durability and texture. It is strong enough to withstand the numerous chemical processes, is naturally thick and maintains its natural lustte. Chinese Remy hair has a much finer texture and is more delicate. The term 'Remy' refers to the process where the cuticles of the hair are kept intact and aligned togetrher when the wig is knotted into the cap.
Indian Remy is extremely versatile, and offers the best styling solutions for the modern day woman of colour. High quality 100% human hair is more expensive than hair mixed with other materials (synthetic hair is most common).
What are the different types of lace available?
French lace creates a strong wig construction which is slightly more detectable than Swiss lace but more robust. We recommend French lace cap construction for first time wearers.
Swiss lace is a finer less detectable lace. The lace is fragile and more suitable for experience users.

All lace options offer a comfortable, breathable cap construction.

These are the measurements for standard small, medium and large wigs. We can also make caps to your exact size so that they will fit your head perfectly. Generally speaking, medium size are suitable for most people, they have stretch lace in the mddle to give some flexibility of size.

How do I apply my lace front wig?
To achieve seamless look, lace front wigs are attached by using either liquid or tape adhesive or combination both - the most suitable method will depend entirely on personal preference. Our Research and Development team are constantly seeking the most reliable adhesives currently available.
We recommend you carry out a 24 hour patch test before trying any new products.
Place a small amount of the adhesive in an inconspicuous area and observe 24 hours later to ensure that you do not have an allergic reaction to the adhesive.

Can I dye, perm or blow dry my wig?
Afrodite wigs can be treated in much the same way as your own hair. It can therefore be permed, coloured or heat treated. However great care should be taken in treating your wig to reduce the likliehood of damage.
Afrodite recommend that you select your preferred style and colour when making your original order to achieve the best results.
Can I wear a high ponytail?
High ponytails are best achieved with full lace wigs. If you have a lace frontal or a unit with adjustable tabs, then we only recommend a low ponytail or updos.
When ordering custom units you can specify full lace or lace frontals to suit your personal requirements. Instructions will be included with your order.
Will my hairline look natural?
When the unit is applied correctly, the hair will appear to be growing from your scalp.
When ordering your wig, we reccommend you select long or short, curly or straight baby hairs, added around the front and perimeter of the wig, for a more naturalistic hairline.
Will adhesives affect my hairline?
Adhesives will breakdown over time and have been known to cause thinning. Afrodite recommends adhesives are removed and reapplied on a regular basis. When removing your wig, please allow sufficient time to undertake this process, allowing the lace release to separate the wig from your hairline – do not be tempted to rush the process. As a general guide, the longer the wig remains without reapplying, the higher likelihood that damage will occur.
How long can I wear the wig before I have to remove it?
This depends on many factors; skin type, adhesive strength, climate etc. Some customers are able to wear their wigs for 1-3 weeks at a time. However due to its easy application and removal, most customers are find it easy to remove their wigs on a weekly basis to care for their own hair, cleanse the lace and reapply. Although it is possible, daily removal of your wig is not recommend, as this will place additional stress on the lace and shorten the lifespan of your wig.

Order received before 3.00 pm ö a £2.20 surcharge applies for guaranteed next day delivery (on Saturday).
Saturday:
Posted on Mondays with guaranteed next day delivery (Tuesdays).
Sunday:
Posted on Mondays for next day delivery (Tuesdays).
To avoid any postage delays, please ensure the cardholders address matches the delivery address. Afrodite cannot accept responsibility for delays incurred for this reason.
Custom Wigs will not be ordered until payment is received, details are confirmed, and terms & conditions agreed to.
Accessories are subject to availability. Orders will be dispatched by first class post (unless otherwise requested) by 3.00 p.m. (B.S.T) on the day full payment is received. Any payments received after 3.00 p.m. will be dispatched on the subsequent business day. Orders will only be sent to the billing address. Please note that some accessories cannot be sent by air, and will require ground transportation.
Deliveries will only be sent to the billing address unless specific instructions have been made. We ship using various carriers, but primarily Royal Mail, Fedex and DHL. Please note that some items cannot be shipped by air, and will require ground transportation.
How will we calculate shipping costs?
We hate hidden charges as much as you do so we will charge you at cost. The delivery price for your items will be shown in your shopping cart.
All orders are always sent recorded delivery, additionally all orders that include a wig will have insurance cover and guaranteed next day deliveryas well.

How long will my stock order take?
Stock wigs are subject to availability. In stock orders will be dispatched by guaranteed next day Special Delivery (unless otherwise stated) by 3.00 p.m. (B.S.T) on the day full payment is received, and any payments received after 3.00 p.m. will be dispatched on the subsequent business day. Orders will only be sent to the billing address. Out of stock orders will generally be sent within 7 days. We will contact you if there will be any further delay.
How to I obtain a custom order quote?
Choose your options from the dropdown boxes on the custom quote page and then purchase your wig from the shopping cart. After payment we will send you a detailed custom order form where you may enter your head measurements and add any other details such as highlight colours and lace cap colour.. You may read the guidelines on the custom order checklist.
How long will my custom wig order take?
On final confirmation please allow 4-6 weeks for delivery for custom wigs. We will contact you by email to update you on the progress of your order. If your custom order is a standard style & length and you don't need it made specifically to your head measurements we may be able to get it for you within 7 days. You may always contact us to find out the estimated delivery date.
Can I place an urgent order?
Afrodite lace wigs are made by hand and consquently cannot be made quickly. We have from found that trying to speed up the process affects the quality so we no longer offer an express service.
Afrodite’s refunds policy for ready made wigs
Please make sure that you have conducted adequate research to ensure that lace wigs are the right option for you and your lifestyle. There are no refunds on ready made wigs unless they are found to be faulty, ie, the item does not match its subscription or is not manufactured as described.
ESSENTIAL: PLEASE DO NOT CUT YOUR LACE WIG UNTIL YOU ARE SURE IT FITS PROPERLY - WE CANNOT ACCEPT ANY LACE WIGS WHICH HAVE BEEN CUT OR TAMPERED WITH.
In the unlikely event that you are not satisfied with any of our wigs, it must be returned, AT THE BUYER"S EXPENSE, within 14 calendar days of receiving the item. Postage by Special Delivery is advisable when returning wigs. The item must be in its original packaging, intact and UNUSED. Please make sure yoh have a receipt as proof of purchase.
Afrodite’s returns policy for custom wigs.
As your wig is made specifically for you, once payment is taken, no changes to the order or any cancellation may be made, except in accordance with your legal rights.
In addition, we will only accept returns in accordance with your legal rights, for example:-
If the wig has not been manufactured as specified.
If the sizing of the wig is incorrect.
If you are returning a wig due to a fault, or you believe it has not been made to the specification given by you, we will re-make a wig to the correct specifications.
The new wig will arrive approximately 4-6 weeks from the date of confirmation - we will contact you by email to update you on the progress of your order. Goods should be returned in the original packaging. Return your parcel and obtain a receipt as proof of posting. |
