TIPS ON BRAIDING

Joy Phido, Chief Executive of World of Braiding

World of Braiding & Extensions Ltd is a pioneer and a leader in the business of training students to make money from the business of braiding. We have chosen to modernise braiding by teaching theory & hands-on skill in order to educate, inform and prepare our students for the business of braiding.

Our company’s main mission is as follows:

To make wearing braided hair glamorous.
To make braiding a respected and recognised profession.
To make hair braiding accessible to everyone from all races.
To offer a few helpful hints.......

Do      maintain a healthy natural hair before wearing braids.
If your hair is damaged, wearing braids will not help your hair to recover.

Do      shampoo and condition your hair before wearing braids. If you braid
dirty hair it will become itchy and will not allow your braids to last long.

Do      keep your scalp moisturised when wearing braids by applying braid                sheen.

Don't  wear braids if you just applied chemical relaxers on your hair. Wait at                least 2 weeks as your hair is very fragile and tender at this stage.

Don't   apply too much weight from extensions onto each strand if you wear                chemically relaxed hair. The weight drags down your hair and                causes breakage.

Don't  wear micro/million braids if your hair is chemically processed. The                already stressed hair will drop off from the weight of the hair that has
               been attached to the roots.

Note   Ensure you take out every knot at the base of your strands of hair after                you take out your braids.  If you shampoo your hair without taking out
the knots, the dirt which forms the knots will tie itself to the strands of hair                which will lead to lots of hair loss when you try to comb your hair.
